Part 3: The Future

A Free World

One overcast afternoon, Bill Warner was talking with Christie Bridges in his Chicago office. The two authors were discussing the prospects of freedom for the future. Bill said to Christie, "Current societal trends don’t look very promising. Today, with the breakup of successful companies by government and the rise of mysticism as seen in religion, psychics, and astrologers, we still have a lot of work to do."

Christie nodded in agreement. She said, "Bill, the task of creating a free world is much bigger than ourselves. We need help, and I’m not afraid to admit it."

Bill replied, "True. But who do we ask?"

"Hey, remember our meeting with Brian Storm years ago? You know, the first time we met him here?" asked Christie.

"Yes." Bill replied.

"Didn’t he say that if he becomes wealthy he would contribute money to advance freedom?" asked Christie.

"You’re right; I totally forgot about that. Do you think he’ll stick to his word? I mean, that was years ago." Bill asked.

Christie smiled and said, "I know Brian well; his word is like a law of the universe."

"Awesome!" said Bill Warner, "Let’s contact him."

"Bill, let me call him. I know him, ah, very intimately. I’ll know what to say." Christie said.

"Sure thing, that sounds great." Bill replied.

Christie Bridges called Brian Storm and asked to meet with him. Brian was happy to meet with her; he arranged for her to come to his office.

The next week, Brian had Christie flown to his island in the Atlantic Ocean. A security guard picked up Christie at the airport and drove her to Brian’s office. She met Brian in the reception room.

"Hi Christie. It’s good to see you again." Brian said cheerfully.

Christie smiled and said, "Thank you Brian. It’s good to see you, too. Can we go somewhere so we can talk in private?"

"Sure, let’s go in here." Brian said as he ushered Christie into the conference room.

Brian got drinks for each of them. When he returned to the conference room, he saw Christie sitting comfortably on a chair. He set a drink in front of her and she thanked him.

"Is there anything else I can get you?" asked Brian.

"Not at the moment…oh maybe there is one thing…" Christie said hesitatingly.

"What?" asked Brian.

"A hug."

"I can do that." Brian said as he reached down to hug the pretty lady.

"It’s so good to see you Brian. I’ve missed you for so long. Sometimes I lay in bed at night thinking about you. The other night I couldn’t fall asleep because I wanted to be with you so bad." Christie confessed.

Brian remained silent while looking at Christie.

"I know you love Lea deeply." Christie added.

"You do? How do you know?" asked Brian.

"Awhile ago Lea asked me about you; she said she liked you. I know she has the looks you like. So I told her how to win your love." Christie said.

"You did? What did you tell her?" asked Brian.

"Let’s just say it’s a girl thing." Christie stated.

"Well, I love Lea very much." Brian said.

"Oh but I need you…" pleaded Christie.

Brian picked up the phone and called Lea. He asked Lea to meet him and Christie in the conference room.

A few minutes later, Lea Parker-Storm walked into the conference room, filling up the room with her magnificent beauty. Her feminine beauty momentarily stunned both Brian and Christie.

"Hi Christie, how are you?" asked Lea.

Christie got up and hugged Lea. She said, "Lea, you’re a lucky woman to have Brian Storm. I wish I was in your shoes."

Lea turned toward Brian; he did not say anything. Lea turned back to Christie and asked, "You do?"

Christie said, "Sure, you got yourself one hell of a man."

Brian remained quiet but wondered what Christie was going to say next.

Lea said, "When I first met Brian I thought he was arrogant. But after getting to know him, I realized he’s very confident yet congenial. And he is a good lover."

Brian cleared his throat and said, "Ladies, I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable. Can we get down to business?"

Lea walked over to Brian and stood next to him. She put her hands on his back and stomach and began rubbing him gently. "Relax honey. We’re not going to hurt you."

"Yeah, chill out big boy. I came here to tell you that I need something." Christie said.

Brian did not know what to expect from Christie. He said hesitatingly, "What do you need?"

"Remember when you first met Bill Warner and me in Bill’s office?" asked Christie.

"Yes."

"Well, you made a pledge back then. I know it was years ago, but I…" Christie said.

Brian’s mind raced back to that meeting. He scanned through the meeting in his mind and remembered saying he would give money to the cause of freedom if he became rich. Now that he was a billionaire, he was sure Christie was here to ask for money. Brian said, "You need money to continue your fight for freedom, right?"

Christie nodded yes. Brian, Lea, and Christie discussed the issue while sitting at the conference table. Lea suggested to Brian that he should establish a freedom foundation and have Christie run it. Brian thought that was a great idea. They discussed this concept and decided to call it the World Freedom Foundation. In essence, it would consist of a financial holding center that pays salaries to workers of the World Freedom Foundation. Christie Bridges would be the president of this foundation. She would be in charge of approving and directing its projects.

With the World Freedom Foundation, Christie could hire several employees. This would enable her to produce more public lectures, books, and tapes on the topic of personal freedom. She felt more excitement during this meeting than she had felt in years. Christie was deeply grateful to Brian and Lea for their financial help.
