After work Lea Parker went up to Brian Storm’s hotel room. Brian welcomed her and they both sat down at a table. Brian said to Lea, "I’ve got a proposal for you. Since I’m leaving for my island tomorrow, you can let me know by phone or email if you accept."

"What’s the proposal?" asked Lea.

"You have the opportunity to make millions of people immortal. I want you to manage my company; you know, run the business. If you can successfully manage this business, you’ll be directly responsible for transforming millions of people from mortal human beings to immortal human beings." Brian said.

Lea stared at Brian for a few moments. Then she said, "I don’t get it. First you don’t want to tell me anything about your work. Now you want to give me the leading role in it. What’s going on here?"

"Ah, I see you’re mentally alert. I had to do some research to find out more about you. What I found impresses me: you’ve got a good standing with the banks, local merchants, and random citizens. You’re honest and trustworthy. And you’re obviously gifted in the area of business to have built an empire at such a young age. You have the necessary ingredients to successfully run the immortality business. The only question is…do you want to do this?" asked Brian.

"I honestly never thought about it. What would I do with my hotel business? I don’t know Brian; let me think about it. However, your offer is intriguing," replied Lea.

"Please consider this offer. You can always hire a CEO to run your business. This way you can keep your hotel business. But just think of the opportunities available from running an immortality business." Brian said.

"That would be radically different from the hotel industry." Lea added.

"Very much so. If you stay in the hotel industry, people from around southern Florida will know you. But if you go into the immortality business, people from around the world will know you. You’ll become world famous," said Brian.

"Oh I don’t know about becoming world famous. It’s not something I’ve longed for." Lea said.

"That’s just one benefit. Other benefits include the opportunity to generate great wealth for yourself, literally save millions of people from death, become a heroine, and have anything you want from life. By pioneering with me, you can break new ground and profit tremendously." Brian said.

"I’ll have to admit this does sound tempting. But I really need time to consider such a dramatic change," replied Lea.

"That’s perfectly understandable. Here’s my business card; contact me when you’ve decided." Brian said as he handed Lea his card.

Lea looked at the card and set it on the table. She said, "Thanks Brian, but now you’ll have to tell me all about your work. I need to know this before I make a final decision."

Suddenly they heard a knock on the door. Brian got up and opened up the door. There was a chauffeur standing in the hall. He said, "Your limousine is waiting for you Mr. Storm."

"Thank you. We’ll be right down," replied Brian.

Brian motioned for Lea to leave the room with him. As Brian and Lea left the hotel room, Lea asked, "Where are we going?"

"We’re going for a scenic ride. I’ll fill you in on the details of my work while we’re cruising." Brian said.

"Whatever turns you on dear," replied Lea.

The two young adults went down the elevator, left the hotel, and got into a long white limousine. The big car drove away with Lea and Brian getting comfortable in the velour seat.

While cruising in the limousine, Brian asked Lea, "What do you know about computers?"

"I know how to use specific programs to manage the income and expenses of a business." Lea replied.

"What do you know about the Internet?" asked Brian.

"I use it to shop around for supplies; it saves me a lot of time." Lea replied.

Brian said, "Okay. Here’s what my company does: Basically, we search the Internet for names of people who are receptive to physical immortality. We compile a database of such people daily and market the immortality pill to them via the Internet. When we receive a batch of orders, we produce the appropriate amount of pills. Then we ship the pills to customers and handle their inquiries. That’s it."

"And you want me to manage this business?" asked Lea.

"Yes."

"That’s quite a responsibility." Lea said.

"Don’t worry; you’ll work with me until you master each part of the business," replied Brian.

"What are you going to do while I run the company?" asked Lea.

"Go cruising on my twin-engine yacht." Brian said.

Lea hit Brian in the arm and said, "Hey, that’s not fair!"

"Get a grip on yourself. I was only teasing you. I’ll mainstream the immortality pill while you run the company. In other words, I’ll work to get the immortality pill used by doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals. And I’ll get this pill into retail stores, drug stores, health-food stores, and mail-order catalogues." Brian replied.

"Don’t you ever take a vacation?" asked Lea.

"Nope. However, when the immortality pill permeates the market, I’ll take a pleasure cruise on my yacht," replied Brian.

Lea moaned.

"What’s the matter?" asked Brian.

"I want to go with you," replied Lea.

"You do?" asked Brian.

Lea nodded yes. Brian leaned over to kiss Lea, but she stopped him. Lea said, "I hope you don’t think I’m like all the other girls you’ve been with. You can’t just have your way with me."

"Huh?"

Lea pushed Brian’s hands off her. She said, "I’m no wench; you can’t just use me when you feel like it. I’ve got pride and self-respect."

Brian turned away from Lea and asked, "Are you a prude?"

Lea hit Brian and said, "Don’t ever call me that again!"

Feeling disgust for the young lady next to him, Brian said, "Listen, I just wanted to kiss you, that’s all. You didn’t have to hit me."

Lea saw Brian’s eyes water; she felt like she was too harsh toward the young man sitting next to her. She said, "Look, I’m sorry. I just have to protect the right to my own body. When men come on to me, I need to know how to refuse them. I treated you like I treat new men who make advances toward me. I can see that you’re more sensitive than the other guys."

"Whatever." Brian said.

"Now can you finish telling me about this opportunity?" asked Lea.

"I’m sorry; I don’t feel like talking right now." Brian said.

Lea hugged the man next to her. She began rubbing his body, filling him up with pleasure. She looked at his face and saw him begin to smile. She laughed and said, "You love this."

Brian replied, "You do feel good."

"Of course!" said Lea, "Now are you ready to talk?"

"Alright," Brian said as his disgust turned into desire for the young lady next to him. He said, "By becoming the manager of the immortality business, you’ll receive a salary, an expenses-paid lifestyle, and part ownership of the business."

"Like how much salary and what are my hours. Also, where will I work?" asked Lea.

"Your first-year salary will be $100,000. It’ll be deposited into a tax-free offshore bank account. You’ll also become part owner of the company. And you’ll have your choice of housing, car, and clothing that’ll be paid for by the company; I think the limit is $3,000 per month for these. Plus you’ll get a living-expense account of $500 per week for food, entertainment, and travel. And you can work any hours you choose once you’re trained. As for location, you’ll work with me on my island in the Atlantic Ocean."

Lea’s mind began to race ahead of Brian. She pictured herself transforming the world with the immortality pill and doing it in first-class style. Brian realized Lea was daydreaming and decided not to interrupt her. He looked out to the ocean and pictured himself cruising on his yacht.

The next day Brian met Lea in the hotel and said goodbye to her. She said she would be in touch about the business opportunity. Brian left the hotel, went to the airport, and flew to his secluded island. He arrived there safely.

Having been gone for several days, Brian tried to get back into his normal work routine. He got caught up with his mail and phone calls. He worked out the details for hiring Chad Taylor as the production manager. Everything was settled, and Chad would start work soon. Brian was glad that Chad Taylor had become part of the immortality team.

Within a week, Lea Parker called Brian Storm. She said she wanted to take advantage of the opportunity offered to her. She accepted the position as general manager for the immortality business. However, Lea said she needed time to find the right person to run her hotel business, and Brian understood.

Brian knew that he had to incorporate his business soon. Upon doing a name search, Brian decided to name his company Transchrome. The name comes from the words ‘transfigure’ and ‘chromosome’, which is exactly what the company does through the immortality pill. By transfiguring a specific chromosome, people would become physically immortal. So Brian worked with a business attorney to incorporate the business under the name Transchrome. He would be the president and Lea Parker would be the general manager, while Chad Taylor would be the production manager. He still needed to hire workers, but he wanted Lea and Chad to participate in the decision of who to hire.
