Almost immediately, Brian began to create notes, lists, and charts that revealed his plans to create a rational world. Three weeks later, upon finishing his preliminary work, Brian received an email from Alex saying that Alex and Adrienne would arrive in New York in four days. They arranged to meet at Adrienne’s art show in New York City.

Brian flew into New York City from Washington DC the night before the art show. He met Alex and Adrienne the next day. They spent several hours observing Adrienne’s artwork along with several other artists’ work from around the world. There were some fabulous sculptures, paintings, line drawings, and colored charcoal sketches. But what caught Brian’s attention was a new form of artwork that he never saw before: cyberspace art transformed into life-size posters. This artwork was so luminous, so radiant—so rich and powerful—that it overwhelmed Brian as soon as he saw it. He immediately fell in love with this cyberspace art.

One particular work, a cyber-rendition of a beautiful naked lady sitting on a planet, tugged at Brian’s soul and would not let go. He could not get that image out of his mind. In fact, upon laying eyes on this particular artwork, Brian knew he had to have it. He got the name of the artist who produced it and went looking for him. Upon finding him, Brian gave the artist a deposit on the artwork. Brian would pick up the artwork later that evening.

After the art show, Brian, Alex, and Adrienne met at Brian’s hotel room. There, Brian laid out plans to establish a rational world. He revealed legal notes, cost estimates, a list of people to recruit, and miscellaneous resources they would need. Alex and Adrienne’s eyes glazed over upon looking at this material.

"What’s the matter?" Brian asked.

"Well, I’ve never seen anything like this," Alex said dazed, "I mean, I’ve never seen such an ambitious project before."

"Yeah, neither have I." Adrienne added.

"Oh, I understand." Brian replied.

"Frankly, I don’t know if we can really accomplish this monumental task of creating a rational world: a brand-new country based on the principles of liberty. Really, this has never been done before in history—not a totally free world. What makes you think that we can accomplish this?" Alex asked.

"Yeah Brian, why do you think we could actually do this?" Adrienne asked.

Brian stood up from his chair and looked at the two young adults sitting on the couch. Then Brian spoke:

"We must do this. If we are to live as human beings, if we are to live according to our nature—honestly, productively, happily—then we must be free in all areas of life. Only through total freedom can we use our minds to think, judge, value, create, grow, and love. Any compromise of freedom inexorably means a compromise of our life."

"I don’t know about you, but I’m not willing to compromise my one-and-only life. I know how the world works and what’s blocking our freedom. I want to eliminate the impediments to freedom so I could enjoy a fulfilling life. Others who benefit from a totally free world are lucky. They’ll never have to do what we’re going to do. They’ll simply benefit from our work."

"I’m not doing this for other people or society. I’m doing this work for a selfish reason: I can’t survive or prosper in a world that demands I hand over the fruits of my labor to my destroyers. Professional parasites and destroyers have ruled the earth for thousands of years. Today, I am taking a principled stance against them—armed only with knowledge, certainty, and honesty."

"Let the enemy attack on all fronts. They will be met with a shield of certainty and a sword of honesty designed to cut through three thousand years of illusions, dishonesty, and destruction. We, the honest producers of this world, will be the victors. They, the dishonest destroyers of this world, will be left to make restitution to their victims or perish in a sea of cyberspace ostracism."

"Now I ask you two: are you with me? Do you want to participate in the ultimate liberation of mankind? Do you want to be involved in the most valuable act in history: the act of bringing a totally free world to planet Earth? Simply nod if you want to be involved in this monumental undertaking. If you don’t want to be part of this, leave now."

Brian finished his speech and remained silent. The young couple sitting on the couch looked at each other; they communicated profound thoughts without uttering a word. The two looked at Brian standing in front of them. Then they both nodded in unison, understanding the full implications of all this. They could not believe the opportunity that was available to them.

Adrienne spoke, "I had no idea our studies would lead to something as profound as this."

Alex added, "I feel the same way."

Brian thought for a moment and said, "The timing is right for this freedom revolution. In the whole scheme of history, this really is not profound. It’s just the next logical step we on earth must take to join our conscious cousins throughout the cosmos so we can enjoy boundless freedom and prosperity. You and I just happened to be born at the beginning of the Internet/Information Age. I’ve put together a vast array of knowledge using logic to see the unprecedented opportunity available to us. I’m going to take advantage of what I see. You’re invited to do the same."

"Count me in." Alex said.

"Me too." Adrienne added.

"Great!" Brian said as he joined them on the couch, "Here, take a look at this list of people I plan on recruiting. Can you think of anyone else that should be added to this list?"

Both Alex and Adrienne reviewed the list. Then Adrienne said, "I think we should contact Tamara Fox. And what about that land developer you know, Alex?"

"Oh, you mean John Gardner. He’d be a great person to contact. I’m sure he’s sympathetic to the cause of liberty. After all, he’s a successful capitalist." Alex said.

Brian responded by saying, "Don’t assume that just because someone allegedly is a capitalist that they’re on our side. Remember that today we live in a mixed economy, one with partial freedom and partial statist controls. Thus, many of today’s businessmen succeed by running to the government and making deals with the devil in order to prosper. Those who do will be terrified by our work. When our work is completed, every businessperson will be competing in a free-market economy with a complete separation between economy and state. Each businessperson will prosper or perish based on his own merit—not based on the edicts of some politician or bureaucrat."

"Good point; I overlooked that. But don’t worry about John Gardner. He is an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word. He avoids the government in all his dealings. He even reduces his involvement with lawyers to the absolute minimum, thereby freeing up more time to be creative and productive." Alex said.

"I like him already," Brian said smiling, "And Adrienne, please tell me about Tamara Fox. Why do you think we should recruit her?"

"Oh, I know you’ll like Tamara. She’s an exotic blond, a popular model, and a successful entrepreneur." Adrienne began to say.

"She might be the one" Brian said quietly.

"What?" Adrienne asked.

"Nothing, just thinking out loud." Brian replied.
