A couple years ago, David L. Hunter met the Grandfather of the anti-tax movement: Irwin Schiff. During that meeting, Mr. Schiff told Hunter that he was thrown in jail during the 1980s for his anti-tax practices. Then Hunter handed Mr. Schiff a brief document, which Mr. Schiff reviewed. While perusing that document, Mr. Schiff exclaimed, "Now wait a minute; even we don't claim that taxes are illegal. We say the income tax is a voluntary tax that doesn't have to be paid, but..." Mr. Schiff had a concerned look on his face.

You see, Mr. Schiff thought David L. Hunter was coming from the anticivilization. Thus, Irwin Schiff realized that Hunter would have been devoured by the master neocheaters as depicted in Francisco de Goya's Saturn Devouring one of his Sons. But Hunter is not part of the anticivilization; he operates from the Civilization of the Universe.

The problem is this: most people today know only of the anticivilization since they lack key knowledge and experiences. Thus, they do not understand C-of-U dynamics. But Hunter has explicitly recognized these two diametric worlds since the early 1990s—the de jure anticivilization and the de facto Civilization of the Universe: the subjective-law-enforced anticivilization and the naturally-occurring Civilization of the Universe. Without intellectual understandings and emotional experiences of the C of U, people will not move into that richly rewarding world.
