As a general rule, unions decrease the competitiveness of their companies. Competitiveness and efficiency decline when workers are guaranteed a set wage and job protection, among other conditions. Incentive to produce maximum values at minimum cost dries up.

Companies without unions--and that do not run to the government for protective laws & regulations--must work harder and smarter than their unionized competitors to survive in the marketplace. They are the ones who bring innovation into the marketplace; they constantly drive prices down while driving quality up.

Communist, Fascist, and Socialist governments do the opposite; they stifle innovation, drive prices up, and drive quality down. Such governments cause the collapse of their nations as happened in Communist Russia and National Socialist Germany in the 20th century.

There probably are few if any examples where a unionized company brought innovation, reduced prices, and increased quality into the marketplace. As far as improved working conditions, this is the only admirable result of unions. But even unions cannot guarantee that workers will not get hurt on the job.

For the record, it is free trade that obliterates cannibalism; all interventionist economies feed the producers to the parasites until society becomes unstable and collapses. The same would happen in today's socio-fascist America if not for the arrival of The Local Group.

After The Local Group puts the Objective Law/Impartial Justice clause into the US Constitution, professional parasitism will become obsolete. Then tomorrow's Milkens and Helmsleys will rise by the millions to create record profits, stunning values, exciting jobs, stellar salaries, and profound fulfillment for workers in all countries.

Happy days are on the horizon.

Please hold the sauerkraut; it makes me nauseous. I'll take mustard.

Really, who ever died from eating hot dogs anyway?

Dave:
Realistically, that number is probably higher. Why do most businesses fail within the first few years? Is it because the true geniuses of society--market entrepreneurs--lack the mind power and talent to succeed in the marketplace? Not at all. The reason for such a high failure rate of start-up businesses is the anticivilization and its:

*sea of arbitrary regulations
*countless subjective laws
*money-crazed lawyers
*biased justice
*inflation
*boom-bust cycles
*parasitical elites
*professional value destroyers
*gun-backed bureaucracies such as the IRS, INS, SEC, FTC

Milt:
> "Star Wars" was turned down by
> every other major studio before Fox decided to give it a try...

Dave: Many great values encounter massive rejection and resistance before they get a foothold in the culture. This is the nature of great, life-boosting values; it is not a reflection of specific individuals. Look at the unprecedented values at http://localgroup.8m.com. They have encountered hostility, rejection, and attacks from every quarter of earth's anticivilization. Fortunately, The Local Group exists beyond that inchoate civilization. It will inherit the earth to launch conscious beings into the Civilization of the Universe, despite constant rejection.

Milt:

Dave: Bill Gates is the best, most competitive, honest, superlative entrepreneur in history. After The Local Group replaces earth's envy/parasite-driven civilization with an Objectivist Civilization, everybody will realize that Bill Gates is the greatest benefactor of 'em all.

Milt:

Dave: John D. Rockefeller is a Titan in the noblest sense of the word. If he was alive today, The Local Group would protect him and advance his work via objective law and impartial justice.

Milt:

Dave: In the anticivilization, yes. But in the forthcoming rational civilization based on reality, rationality, self-interest, free markets, and sublime art, everyone's standard of living will rise without limits.

Dave: Generally, unions guarantee set wages, jobs, and working conditions to employees. As such, this deflates incentive to produce the best products at the lowest costs. So long as unionized companies cannot get "laws" passed to protect them from more-competitive companies without unions, then those unionized companies are moral.

Dave: The Local Group does not demand that anyone submit to any of its ideas or views.

The Local Group is here to stay. And it's going to compete with your world. Here's the lineup:

-----YOUR WORLD----- -----LOCAL GROUP WORLD-----
Bill Clinton Leadership vs Ron Paul Leadership
Socio-Fascism vs Laissez-Faire Capitalism
Political-Policy Laws vs Natural Objective Laws
Jail Milken not OJ vs Jail OJ not Milken
Alexander Hamilton vs Thomas Jefferson
John M Keynes vs Ludwig von Mises
IRS/INS/DEA Destroyers vs IBM/INTEL/DELL Producers
Bill Bennett vs Bill Gates
Lincoln/FDR/JFK Icons vs Gould/Coolidge/Getty Icons
John Sherman/Antitrusts vs John D. Rockefeller/Trusts
Plato/Kant vs Aristotle/Rand
Limp Penis/Viagra vs Firm Penis/Erotica
Sartre/Camu vs Hugo/Dumas
Altruism/Self-Sacrifice vs Rational Self-Interest
Fiat Money vs Cybercash
Janet Reno vs Lilian Vernon
Monica Lewinski vs Cindy Margolis
Alanis Morisette vs Janet Jackson
Zero Worship vs Hero Worship
Taxes, Death vs Tax-Free Immortality
Anticivilization vs Rational Civilization

Milt:
> But if

Dave: You mean the facilities of Socialism, Fascism, inflation, regulations, taxation, subjective laws, biased justice, fists, guns, prison camps, cemetaries? You want me to help pay for my own destruction? You are free to pay for yours. I'm not going to support my own destruction.

Milt:
> ...Over my dead body...

Dave: The Local Group guarantees the bodily and property protection of all innocent citizens. Moreover, you might never have a dead body depending on your age. The Local Group will market anti-aging and reverse-aging products to you and all Citizens of Earth as soon as these become commercially available.

Milt:
> ...Profit driven companies have traditionally shown

Dave: It was Rockefeller's oil, Carnegie's steel, and Ford's cars--not Lenin's Russia, Hitler's Germany, or FDR's America--that lifted mankind into unprecedented prosperity and benevolence.

Milt:
> The government is

Dave: Yes, in the anticivilization. But in the forthcoming Objectivist Civilization, all property is turned over to private corporations that compete to deliver the highest quality at the lowest prices. Government reduces to the function of protecting individual rights, which means protecting each citizen's person and property--nothing more, nothing less.

Milt:
> What a moron. (Sorry; that was ad hominem)

Dave: Ad hominem attacks are necessary against sound reasoning.

Now it's time for The Local Group to surpass Roark, Rearden, d'Anconia, Galt.

Right on. What's more, The Local Group will blast the racist INS into oblivion...along with its soul-mate institutions of evil: the IRS, DEA, FDA, EPA, FTC, FCC, SEC, BATF, OSHA.

Dave: Do you know about the Illuminati? If not, do a key-word search on the Internet using "Illuminati" and "Rockefeller". Or you could check out http://www.midnight-emissary.com or http://www.realityzone.com or the alt.illuminati newsgroup to fill in gaps in your knowledge regarding this issue. You'll be surprised at what you discover. Warning: some of your findings will purposely be misleading. You can email The Local Group at localgroup@usa.net for confidential information regarding this matter.

Milt:
> ...If we

Dave: In a laissez-faire Capitalist system, one company could rise to dominate its industry. So long as the company outcompetes others through superior performance, better products, & lower prices--and does not initiate force or fraud--then that company is entitled to its *earned* natural monopoly. Everyone benefits: the most-competitive companies offer society the best products and services, lowest prices, highest-paying jobs, and stellar returns on investment.

However, this is not the moral justification for earned natural monopolies. That is to say, the reason for allowing earned natural monopolies is *not* because they benefit society. The prohibition of initiatory force, fraud, and coercion against any person or organization leads the way to the possibity of natural monopolies. If a person has superb talents, that person must remain free to deliver values to others--without force-backed oppression from the government.

In reality, John Sherman's Antitrust "laws" are the perversion of justice; they empower the government to initiate force and coercion against innocent citizens and organizations. The US government must leave Bill Gates alone. Why? Because Mr. Gates never committed any objective crimes.

Antitrust is both immoral and illegal from an objective law/impartial justice world. The Local Group will bring that world down to earth early in the next millennium. For full details, peruse http://localgroup.8m.com or email localgroup@usa.net.

Remember, governments that initiate force, fraud, and coercion against their citizens cause the collapse of their countries. A government attack on Bill Gates and Microsoft will only speed up The Local Group's work of replacing earth's anticivilization with the Civilization of the Universe.
